Questions

Why seek the help and support of a psychologist?
Sometimes we struggle to cope with our emotions or behave in ways that make our problems worse, and finding a solution is not always easy. Psychologists are trained to help you understand the way in which emotions, behavior, thoughts, environment, and biology all interact to create your experience. Why go it alone when you can have a trained psychologist to help you unravel the mystery and find lasting solutions for the problems you’re having?
How can I choose the right psychologist?
Choosing a psychologist is a very personal decision, so trust your instinct. You should have a deep sense that he or she is experienced, trustworthy, empathetic, and committed to helping you achieve your goals. Do your homework and prepare for your consultation, but ultimately go with your gut!
Can a psychologist prescribe medication?
Most psychologists are trained in non-pharmaceutical therapies for emotional and behavioral disorders, and thus do not prescribe medication.
